Our Story

We are the Sangwin family, and Circle 6 Farm & Ranch is our passion project turned lifelong calling. Greg and I (Laura) recently celebrated twenty-two years of marriage after building our own farm in small-town Northwest Iowa. As first-generation family farmers, we’ve always valued knowing exactly where our food comes from, and we’ve raised our four kids—Laina (19), Zane (17), Violet (15), and Vance (13)—with that same belief. Each of them plays a role on the farm, contributing in their own unique way.

Alongside our full-time careers in agriculture, we started this business with the hope of carving out a meaningful niche that could one day be passed on to the next generation. For more than twenty years, we’ve raised cattle, hogs, and chickens, and in recent years expanded into Wagyu. Together with a close family member, Luke, we began building our Wagyu herd—now a growing collection of full-blood Wagyu, F1 crossbred, and Angus cross cattle.

Our passion remains simple and steady: to provide our community with local, sustainable, ethically raised meat that is both nutritionally dense and rooted in the values of family, hard work, and transparency.

  • Greg & Laura

The brains and the brawn of the operation have been married for twenty-two years and have been enjoying watching the kids grow up on the farm while also following their passion of providing others with healthy, whole foods.

  • Laina

Our oldest daughter, Laina, is a junior at Iowa State studying Agricultural Communication and Food Science. She is the head of marketing for the business and enjoys educating people about rural agriculture.

  • Zane

Our oldest son, Zane, is a jack of all trades, helping out on the farm with chores, fixing machinery in the shop, and driving the combine during the harvest season, just to name a few.

  • Violet

Our youngest daughter, Violet, likes to spend her time riding horses and practicing for horse shows. On the farm, she takes care of the horses but also runs part of the hog operation.

  • Vance

The baby of the family, Vance, single-handedly runs the poultry operation on the farm, including laying hens and broiler chickens. He recently expanded to quail that he hatched himself in an incubator.

  • Luke & Renee

Luke wanted to start raising Wagyu cattle, all because he wanted to eat the best steak ever. He decided that his sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Greg, could help make this dream a reality since he lives in town instead of on a farm.

  • Brigsby

Our Australian Shepherd Blue Tick Coonhound mutt turned family helper. Brigsby does her share on the farm by guarding gates and helping in the cattle pasture while also protecting the family farm from the very scary wild bunnies that try to infiltrate the garden.

  • Mattie

Our not really adopted, adopted daughter Mattie, is our favorite photographer and should be yours too! She is responsible for taking every photo you can see on our website or social media and does an amazing job. Check out her work at Rawhide Co.
